What’s up?
No love for the new storage monsters SX63/133/293…
16TB drives for this price is crazy value. Can’t wait to upgrade my SX62 when the new models are available in Helsinki DC.
You were faster than us
Do you need a large amount of secure storage resources for your sensitive data? Our line of high-capacity fifth-generation storage servers are waiting for you. The combination of HDDs and NVMe SSDs ensures improved performance and makes it perfect for your high-storage use case, whether it’s archiving, backing up or administering your data, or for multimedia, databases, or file servers. Profit from our SX servers’ high accessibility and dependibility. The 16 TB enterprise HDDs for these models support hot-swapping, allowing you to switch out hard drives without experiencing downtime, and you can set the software RAID level of your choice.
The entry model, the SX63, comes with 4 x 16 TB enterprise HDDs. The other two models take it to the next level. We’ve equipped both with speedy data center NVMe SSDs — 2 x 960 GB for the SX133, and 2 x 1.92 TB for the SX293. Plus you’ll say “oooh” for the oodles of HDDs; the SX133 comes with 10 x 16 TB, while the SX293 has a whopping 14 x 16 TB. We’ve mounted all three models with Intel Xeon processors and between 64 to 256 GB of DDR4 ECC RAM goodness.

Hey guys - looking for a quick distraction this Friday…? Take a few minutes to get to know our colleagues in Finland! --Katie
@Hetzner_OL since when don’t we get any posts about new stuff anymore? Firewalls are really cool!
I think load-balancers were also not mentioned here:
https://www.hetzner.com/cloud/load-balancer
Let’s Encrypt™ support for load balancers is here! More convience, less wasted time — this is what you get with Let’s Encrypt™ certificates, and you can automate their creation and management. You can configure it directly in the Cloud Console and secure your data this way. Manual administration and expired SSL-certificates are no longer an issue when using our load balancers. The certificates renew and reactivate themselves continuously after you assign them to a resource.
Really cool!

Very nice. I’m a big fan of the continued AMD growth direction. You’ll notice I exclusively order Ryzen and Epyc boxes.
Hi guys, Our photographer recently took a picture that I was probably over-excited to see, simply because I had never been in that part of the DC before.
I was also super impressed to learn that no one did any extra cleaning before the photographer took this pic. This is apparently the default appearance.

You could totally hide your weed there.
Well, I suppose, in a physical sense, there certainly is a lot of space down there. In theory, you’d want to make sure you remembered exactly where in the raised floor it is, and in which DC; otherwise, it would be like that Seinfeld episode where they get lost in the mall parking garage.
Weed’s still a controlled substance here, though, so probably best not to hide it at your place of employment. --Katie
For those who didn’t already notice, a new SX line is up!
Thanks for sharing
First outage with a Hetzner dedicated server that I’ve experienced in my many years with them
Edit: It’s already been fixed. 5 minutes turnaround, great service as always
I’ve had some bad ones up to an hour+, and I can’t even remember any more than that because I only fake concern for my customer’s benefit at that point. When Hetzner is on the job I really can’t bring myself to be concerned for the outcome.
Oh wow this app thing is awesome!
And what is this “Ashburn” thing ? Ashburn is in the US
There has been quite a debate in our own forum about this. (The thread discussing it is in German.) I will make the same cryptic comment I made in our own forum today:
