I see very intressting the thing is that i would need way more disks to do such security and a backup system for multiple tb’s so i don’t know about it i need to think of it…
There are a number of providers here that could do for the backups. I personally have one 1tb backup vps on on letbox & one on alphavps, two 1tb ones on wishosting that do a few other things besides the backups and then self host one backup here on my own connection.
I had been running the Nextcloud on my own connection but recently moved and went from a 1gig down, 1 gig up fiber to 450 down, 50 cable (sigh) since it’s the only thing available here and moved the server to a Hetzner dedicated box (ryzen 5 3600) that does a bunch of other stuff and it barely notices the Nextcloud really.

€165 but thats also with UK VAT @ 20%
which works out to be roughly £146.55 inc VAT
plus a few extra IP’s say £150 p/m
For the DC NVME drives and ECC RAM, worth the little extra IMHO.
and your quite right it is, just with extra drives added.
I cannot talk about TB, but I am using a nextcloud installation on a Level 9 Webhosting. I use it for syncing my data for school and store my passwords in a plugin called keeweb. It works like a charm and I never had any issues with it.

I recently had a baby ddos lucky but i was wondering if you guys founded any solution as ddos protection for hetzner. I founded out it’s good but you need to contact them at first and this can take way too much time sometimes which is normal too.
So i was wondering if they activate it only on a few machines to reduce the costs. So i don’t know if you guys founded something pretty “cheap” but working for Hetzner dedicated machines?

It really depends on the type of the DDOS, you could try some rate limiting per IP on your server. If the Hetzner DDOS Protection is not enough, you could use an external service like Cloudflare and Sucuri, I personally never used them myself, but I know a lot of people that do.
