I just signed up for Koofr as well, on StackSocial. Coupon code HOLIDAY40 brings the price down (100 GB for $18, 250 GB for $36, 1 TB for $102). I store backups on a storage VPS and am just planning on using the Koofr space for a second copy of the backups via rclone. A Reddit comment the Koofr CEO posted last year (Reddit - Dive into anything) made me feel reasonably okay with them. He said they’ve been around for seven years as a profitable company, and all files are stored with 5x redundancy. I see a 2014 version of their site on the Internet Archive (Koofr - Because your data matters.) so that claim seems legit. I’m pretty sure they use Hetzner as app.koofr.net resolves to a Hetzner IP address.

I’m just really frustrated with StackSocial. I purchased the deal on Sunday night at ‘full price’ because it said there was only “20 minutes” left. On Monday, I checked and the deal was STILL active with “6 days” left, AND there was a coupon available. I hadn’t even ‘claimed’ the code yet, so I contacted them to try and get a refund of the difference and they haven’t replied yet. AppSumo are a LOT nicer to deal with - they allow refunds even if you’ve claimed the deal, and refunds are a lot quicker to get.

I set up my Koofr account. So far so good! Transfer speeds from one of my VPSes in Chicago are good but not amazing (around 15 MB/s), whereas transfer speeds from London are fantastic (around 95 MB/s). Used rclone to upload around 250 GB of files from a VPS in London to Koofr and it took around 45 minutes.

They seem like a better choice than some of the other lifetime storage deals because they’ve been around for a long time with enough monthly customers to be profitable, and they support rclone and WebDAV access.

As for StackSocial, I’m not sure I’d buy anything from there again. I asked them for a refund of the difference between the price I paid and the coupon sale price due to the misleading end date on the deal and the fact that the coupon went live less than 30 minutes after my purchase. So far they haven’t been helpful at all.

Welcome to the Koofr family  Stacksocial works as long as you don’t need their support :stuck_out_tongue:

Appsumo is better in that regard.

Appsumo’s support is very good and I could even get a refund for a purchase I had already redeemed, so I expected StackSocial to be the same. They’re definitely nowhere near as good. It’s put me off buying anything from them again. Only going to look at Appsumo lifetime deals now.

Yeah, the StackSocial counters counting down is often just BS (set to auto-renew or something, but suddenly it is actually gone, too) … I’ve got two Koofr packages (250 GB last year, and 1 TB this year), and also pCloud 2 TB … All working good.

Currently this:

If you sub to their newsletter you will likely get some discount (or on certain times of the year)
I somehow got the Pinegrow Pro + WordPress Theme Builder License for 35€/year with a student license and renew it every other year at 17€?! (it is discounted upon renewal, usually). I have no auto-renewal though as I only renew when I feel like it.

The latest update added some new Bootstrap Blocks. This is dope :open_mouth:

Check out the trial first. It might need a bit more “getting into” as you might assume. I still haven’t figured out all the ins and outs but it has been moving forward and I keep renewing my license since 2017 (iirc), so they must be doing something right. The latest update really seems to have added much more intuitivity though  That said, I’d recommend Pinegrow any day.

Cheers!

Sadly, I didn’t support PHP really well.

I have an “include header and footer” but it doesn’t work as intended

But still looks a nice program for normal HTML/CSS apps and maybe WordPress themes.

Wish you all a happy new year between!

It is worth mentioning that Pinegrow is a front-end builder before anything else. Not meant for background dev. Anyway, that was one of the reasons I said give the trial a go first

Happy New Year mate

I’m finally switching…

I already switched… to Linux…

The file manager I am using is Double Commander, because I am a millenial, coming from Norton Commander and MS-DOS era.

Ah the great Norton Commander…

For macOS, Nimble Commander is nice.
On Linux and other *nix you always have mc … and stuff like ranger … I still do most stuff directly in shell, no matter what. :innocent:

True. I love Midnight Commander too. But now I use linux on desktop (Linux Mint), so Double Commander fits better for my daily use.

Dang! The prices I see now are crazy much higher.
I don’t really need something like Pinegrow often, but it seemed quite good at fetching a page online and make it editable in the editor.
(The WP export option looks interesting, but not sure I would be happy with it in the long run.)
So I would need some heavy discounts to go for this …

Just added Tailwinds CSS Visual Builder Addon from Pinegrow on top for 33€ (offer via mail). It is registered to my regular license and will not affect any renewal price, so basically a one-off fee.

Also agree: Pinegrow is nice to import and edit any website
