The wife wanted something “humble” and would even ask if 3gb would not be enough
Which was the mi 9 you’ve recommended?
Forgot.
“fun” fact:
We may want to pay an insurance as she needs to go walking to the surgical procedures (due to covid)and its highly likely she can get mugged .
@crotaphiticus@imok I’ve been using the Mi 9 for a year and a half now, it’s been a rock solid phone The camera is a little disappointing, but aside from that, I really can’t fault anything about it. I’m planning on upgrading to a Mi 10 or 11 if it’s out by May - June next year.
You want a Pixel 3a. Take that recommendation to the bank, it’s solid. Hardware is only half the battle, the software has to match it. This one does, and it’s good.
Pixel 4 or 4a if it’s in budget. The things Google does with less hardware are amaaaaazing. Pixel 3 (non “a” model) is a horrible exception. Especially with the camera, holy shit. Mediocre camera with an incredible algorithm that pulls off the finest photos around. Contrary to popular belief, porting the pixel gcam over to other phones is not equivalent. There are many phones with WAY better camera hardware that cannot pull off nearly the same “run and gun” quality shots due to poor software (looking at you and your terrible handling of moving subjects, Samsung).
An interesting observation that at this point the camera is really the only thing that sets the flagships from Samsung, Google & Apple apart from the other brands that are a much better price.
Even OnePlus (which is probably the Chinese manufacturer with the highest rep in western countries) can’t compete with the cameras and I’m not really sure why
I had a OnePlus 2 back in the day, but their lack of software updates annoyed me.
I had to use custom ROMs to get any of the new Android features and my banking app wouldn’t work with them because it knew my phone was rooted. So I ditched them in favour of Samsung. More money but my S10+ hasn’t let me down yet.
Agree. I have Samsung A10 for a work mobile and I’d say they are the perfect balance between cost and functionality if you want a well known brand. I’d be more than happy with my work phone as my personal phone if I had sub £200 to spend
My previous phone was a OnePlus 3T. Didn’t last long (slightly under two years, camera doesn’t focus anymore and the battery is horrible) but it was a great phone. Nowadays they’re so expensive I might as well just buy a Samsung phone, which I did last year
I think pocophone X3 is coming.
Wait and buy that. Awesome subbrand by xiaomi. Very cheap and very high quality. I think camera sensor is the same as pixel. So can use pixel gcam.
