Web Hosting Control Panels

I’ve always been intrigued by KeyHelp® – free Control Panel for Servers. Has anyone used them extensively enough to give their impression?

I never understood the lack of love for Webuzo. A perfect webpanel for single users.

Also, anyone ever tried TinyCP? Looks ok.

I spent some time yesterday migrating stuff from an ancient VestaCP box (read: wheezy, php 5.4… yikes) to Hestia w/ multi-php. Working quite well, nice to be able to run an OS that still gets security updates…

I’d suggest taking a look at this (disclaimer: haven’t tried either yet):

The developer was active with both VestaCP and Hestia - but that’s the fork he maintains and uses with his web hosting company - zero hacks so far, as far as I know.

Differences, things to watch out for:

  • Only Debian is supported.
  • No changes to $HESTIA from $VESTA ( /usr/local/vesta, not /usr/local/hestia ), which makes merging official Vesta git repos a lot easier and automatic, with fewer chances to make mistakes when editing.

Image broken?

Still with cPanel, even after the price hike. The hike increased our server costs around ~25%. That’s not much.

Once DA/other panels become more stable and equipped with some needed features we would consider them.

apnscp 3.1 was launched and it includes a cPanel migrator.

Not exactly thr same kind of hosting panel…
but here goes. And they are running an LTD

If a client asks for cPanel, you give them cPanel. Hard times now, cant go around refusing clients for the “cheap copy”.

Looks like DA is winning the race.

I agree though as it is getting better and better everyday.

ISPConfig is also good for personal use as it is not auto for everything…

DA is good, but the animations get pretty annoying and I’ve noticed that it tends to slow down pretty heavily when there are a lot of users on a single server.

Hmmm… We didn’t experience that at all

Could’ve been the provider I was using :stuck_out_tongue: But the animations are really annoying when you’re trying to get a lot of things done quickly. The ability to turn them off would be great.

I agree. It feels very sluggish. However, DA team has been super active and pretty sure we will see something nicer and better soon!

I find it’s as quick as cPanel - other than the file manager if you have a lot of data. I’ve got it on some HDD based servers and it’s quick enough there too.

You are using the icon grid theme?

No.

That might explain it

Ah sir. Evo theme is quite bloated. The other themes are super snappy.

Isn’t evolution the default theme? It has some animations in it but it’s not an icon grid like cPanel?
