Hi everyone, today I received the RS 2000 SAS Plus G8 that I acquired in Flash Sale from Netcup - 13.99 euros per month - (monthly contract). Specifications:

CPU: Intel® Xeon® Gold 6140 (4 Dedicated)
RAM: 24 GB DDR4
SAS: 600GB
Connection Speed: 1 GBit/s

Here are some benchmarks for future reference. I ran the tests for the following operating systems:

  4. Ubuntu 18.04 LTS

Note: In all tests, the RS 2000 SAS Plus G8 was only performing the benchmarkings (so there were no other ongoing activities that could hinder performance)

How to install and run Geekbench 4

Let’s start from the home directory and put the files there.

cd

Download the files from geekbench.com:
(change version number if needed for latest version)

wget http://cdn.geekbench.com/Geekbench-4.3.3-Linux.tar.gz

Extract the downloaded files:

tar -zxvf Geekbench-4.3.3-Linux.tar.gz

Go to the extracted folder:

cd Geekbench-4.3.3-Linux

Run the test in tryout mode, results are uploaded automatically:

./geekbench_x86_64

After a few minutes the test is completed and you’ll see a link to a webpage which is unique for each test. Just enter the link in any browser and you’ll see the results of the test.

There’s an issue with BHS and netcup?

True, this has happened in all network tests for OVH Canada. :worried:


I made a geekbench 4 on Windows Server 2019 Standard (NetCup RS 2000 SAS Plus G8): netcup KVM Server - Geekbench

I also did the Geekbench 4 on a Kimsufi i3-2130 (Windows Server 2016 Standard) for comparison: https://browser.geekbench.com/v4/cpu/13230958


I intend to keep only one of the servers (Kimsufi KS-7 i3-2130 € 8.99 | netcup RS 2000 Plus SAS G8 € 13.99). Kimsufi, despite having a 100 Mbps connection, is doing better in terms of network speeds for Central America and South America. :thinking:

Thanks to @crotaphiticus for the files sent by PM. Kimsufi won in all network tests for South America. The OVH network is the best for my location. To increase the certainty I did a test with Plex using a video file with 11.62 GiB. With Kimsufi (Canada) I can reproduce the video without the need for transcoding, since with Netcup I need to transcode to play the video without crashes.

PS: for website hosting I believe Netcup is more reliable (Raid 10 and SAS).
