hey @martijnk, just for clarification… your services are located with OVH aka Limburg (not really Frankfurt), right?

Hi Falzo, yes correct! It’s close to Frankfurt though, OVH calls it Frankfurt as well.

hmm yeah… like buffalo is new york  I know that OVH calls it Frankfurt, though it’s about 100km away which not always will be just about 1ms. from my experience you’ll see quite some peerings go through Amsterdam instead of directly to FRA which adds ~15ms in latency for the back and forth.

don’t want to criticize, I do have quite some VMs in different Frankfurt DCs and OVH Limburg as well. I just wouldn’t consider OVH for latency critical stuff around FRA though…

I defenitley agree but I sell € 16 / year VPS so please don’t run anything business critical on it  Use a HA setup for that in a state of the art DC with the best peerings available (I should probably make a disclaimer) or use Azure/AWS.

The reason OVH says Frankfurt is because everybody knows where that is. If you say Limburg it could be in the Netherlands and Belgium as well and if they do know it’s in Germany nobody knows where. So I do understand why OVH calls it Frankfurt but yes, technically you are right.

It’s a fairly new location as well for OVH so I’m sure their routing will improve over time.

Like Ryan Air fly you to Frankfurt, Hahn, then you have to pay steep to take the bus to the An Mein airport …

What does that mean? 1 full HT? 50% of a HT? 33%? 25%?

Hi, yes so it’s 1 thread / vCPU which basically means one full HT so yes you could say half a core.
