BuyVM Network and Experiences

It could be. Sure.

Well, I had plans to use the AnyCast for a DNS.
I monitored the servers, turned out, the uptime was worse then I had on other servers.

So I ditched the idea and stayed at the current dns setup.
Especially LUX.

BuyVM is quite good, nothing to complain here

Could you share the BuyVM test file link for LA?

http://speedtest.lv.buyvm.net/100MB.test

Vegas is not LA. BuyVM and the speedtest servers probably have entirely different routing to your ISP.

LV is what they offer, it says LA when you sign up and then changes to LV. It is weird.

Do they even offer LA?

Eitherways, do you think multiple ISPs from India would have the same issue? I ask people from all sides of India to these it. What speed are you getting?

Just ticket and Fransisco will get it sorted.

Thanks!

We all know what Cogent’s international network looks like.

Could you share a traceroute to the BuyVM’s test server please?

You say it, I do it.

Mediocre at best, unlike other BuyVM location Las Vegas is not just single homed to Cogent that location got also HE too also mediocre.

Put your pink glasses on and it looks just like Akamai, with a few hops added

Cogent has weaknesses with certain routes, but the same can be said for any provider.

From my experience Cogent sucks for anything that goes over the ocean, to the point where using a different carrier often yields over 3 times the speed.
Very similar story with HE, but HE at least has a pretty good European network thanks to their “we want to peer with EVERYONE” policy.

But truth be told, what could I want for their dirt cheap bandwidth.

what does it mean?
