Thanks mate. The other dog coach that introduced us to Gucci doesnt know this dog coach that offered to help so we need to see how it goes. Carefully.

That’s good! That’s the hot mustard!

Sure you can’t. It’s She’s an actual person you’re talking about, a human family member.

Its raining today and Gucci has been sleeping. This night wasnt easy for her. Sara had to spend some time with her at 3am as she wouldnt stop crying. She is calm now tho :). I hate rain, would like to be next to her.

Btw she doesnt get hit by rain, the cage is rain proof!

She wasnt defensive today, at all. At least not yet. She misses us. We were able to give her food just fine and she gets closer to us day by day. Loving the experience so far and we see many changes in her behaviour. I am pretty sure we will be able to make her happy.

Hey,

Are donations still welcomed?

Certainly! We will need those as there is plenty of stuff that we need to get for Gucci. A Serestos, external desparasitation, vaccines, a good bath, dental care and more stuff I dont remember right now. The vets will need to do a full check up. Its raining today so we havent arranged it yet! Everything is pretty expensive for dogs, specially for large dogs.

Nice one, she reminds me of Penny, a Bullmastiff I rescued that was being used as a guard dog by a house full of Romanian gangsters, aggressive was an understatement and she weighed 53 kilos / 116 lbs.

Needless to say I am literally covered in scars from head to toe from being attacked by her, I don’t have any tattoo’s I call those my tattoo’s after about 6 - 12 months of just being well looked after she chilled out and became a complete softie when she understood the world was not out to get her.

Sadly she died at 4 years old due to cancer, but I don’t regret it.

We may have had some differences lately but i appreciate what you are doing, it is honorable.

Donation sent.

Anthony,

Donation received. Thank you so much! Lovely story, I admire people that are able to handle such situations and dogs. Aggressive dogs arent easy to deal with, its just a matter of time until we gain their trust and convert those to happy dogs!

@all in your honor guys, we were able to get her out of her cage today and walk her! AMAZING!!!
And yes there are pics, obviously!

We couldnt be happier! Its a very very exciting day for us!

@Wolveix @Mason as always, please update the donations and remaining balance:

@AnthonySmith / InceptionHosting - 100 EUR
@S3phy - 10 EUR

Thank you so much friends!!!

@AnthonySmith I did read your note, any recommendation for beds for Gucci? She has one though!
@S3phy, thank you so much for your donation!

We love you guys.

Edit:

Thank you for the lovely words though, I really do admire and respect you.

I think you will manage with her by the look of that, if she will walk with you, she can be tamed.

She may never be capable of being off a lead unless enclosed though, that was the issue I had with Penny, she would kill other dogs under the wrong circumstances and was still scared of children.

One of the only tips I can really offer, I am no expert I just managed through being stubborn, when you get bit, do not over react to much and do nut pull your hand or arm away, it only re-enforces the behavior.

Barking can be ignored growling should not be ignored, use distraction when growling starts.

I got pinned in to the corner of a room once on the floor with my hand in her mouth, blood dripping everywhere, I did not pull back my hand I just let her hold it and growl at me, just make a loud girly scream (i know i know) when the pressure increases, they get the message.

Eventually she let go and cleaned up my hand for me (like I was going to say no).

A police dog trainer then gave us a 30 minute visit to see if it was still possible to do anything, he showed me a technique with a small water bottle with a bit of change in it, basically smash it on the ground as you shout no, obviously you need to set up the right situation for that first, for me it was some food on the floor that was not for her.

Only took about 5 times then if she was doing anything we did not want her to do, rattle the bottle a little she stopped, 6 months after that I could do anything with her and the aggression was pretty much gone.

I went from her bitch to someone she looked to for guidance, bit of an over share but maybe handy if you are having moments of doubt.

Thank you Anthony. That helps a lot. We have been trying to gain her trust very slowly. She is no longer defensive with us, not the way she used to be. She has been getting closer and walking her today was a wonderful experience for us. We are three in the house and we all walked her. Wasnt tough. I managed to open the cage absolutely fine, no defensive attitude from her, at all. Impressive given that it has been about a week (last friday) since we brought her. We have also been showing her our hands as that is something she is very defensive with, specially if you touch her, we have never touched her. Overall, she seems to be much happier here and she is protected by all of us. She has new friends and you guys are part of her life. We are able to treat her properly with everything she needs, including dental care. The vet shall come here next week, I dont like to put her asleep but I am unable to hold her for now to take the vaccine so it has to be done that way.
Gucci will also have a friend to play with, our dog Steve!

We would like you guys to know that we have decided to keep her permanently. We were the temporary family, but I am going to talk with the animals association to actually own her. We will make Gucci the happiest dog in the world.

Gladly in the place we now live at we have plenty of space to walk her and have fun with her.

Again, once we left her in the cage she started crying, that lasted at least an hour. We love her and I hope she loves us too. Its raining today though so we could only walk her while we cleaned her cage, hopefully it will be sunny tomorrow as we would love to do a long walk with her. She and Steve, will soon walk with us as well.

From what the dog coach noticed, she is fine with animals. Humans are the problem. Or… Were. She is protected here. No one will ever touch her again.

It’s great to see she will let you leash and walk her already. This is a lifetime commitment; don’t forget that. There will be ups-and-downs, but she is doing brilliantly.
