Long Distance was expensive if you wanted to dial out to a good BBS somewhere far away in 1988.
This is what some of us did as kids/adults to circumvent $1000+ phone bills a month from Bell.

From my first Compaq with Pentium 1 processor and 24gb RAM I still have the processor in paper and a wood box (to protect it from humidity).
I still remember playing Lotus 3 in MS-DOS. Damn I loved that speed zone.
I also remember playing F1 Grand Prix with my cousins.
And I will never forget watching my very first porn on that PC.
Rusty & Eddies.
When done, &TOTSE.
That Lotus is nicer than that Blonde and less maintenance bills. I’m just saying… Anal is trickier in a 2 seater. Wagons are ideal for that.

Was anyone here into the Sierra “Quest” series? King’s Quest, Space Quest?
Also Maniac Mansion and Secret of Monkey Island were some of my favorites of that time.
Oh, Wing Commander series too!
Commander Keen will always be my favorite DOS game. Red Alert a close second.
I think I completed at least two Space Quest and maybe one or two King’s Quest games. (+ some other stuff, Larry etc.)
Monkey Island and Wing Commander also sound familiar. Think I had a bunch of floppies for Wing Commander something
Yessir. Loved Maniac Mansion and…
I get the feeling that Futurama was in some way inspired by this game.
What was the name of that C64 game with the caveman on the unicycle ?
that’s it… lol
haven’t seen that for many many years
